Job summary

South Shore Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide individualized nursing care using the nursing process and to coordinate comprehensive patient care in a hospital setting. The role includes medication administration, documentation, and adherence to SSH policies.

You will develop and update patient care plans, perform admissions assessments when needed, and facilitate discharge planning while maintaining a focus on patient safety, family involvement, and collaborative teamwork.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Previous Acute Care RN experience preferred.
• RN - Registered Nurse license required.
• BLS/ACLS/NRP/PALS/TNCC/TCAR certifications may be required depending on department.

Responsibilities

• Provides individualized, outcome-oriented nursing care using the nursing process.
• Administers, transcribes, and records medications per SSH policies, including medication reconciliation and narcotic control.
• Develops, updates, and communicates an individualized plan of care for each patient and coordinates discharge planning.
• Maintains safety, quality, and compliance through adherence to policies and regulatory standards.
• Utilizes technology (e.g., email, learning systems) and participates in ongoing professional development.
• Ensures patient and family-centered care and collaboration with the care team throughout hospitalization.
