Job summary

Cook County Health's 7W Medical-Surgical Correctional unit seeks a professional Registered Nurse to provide and coordinate safe, individualized nursing care for acutely ill patients and to support families. As a Clinical Nurse I, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, document outcomes, and participate in staff development.

The role requires IL RN license, BLS, and the ability to respond promptly in emergencies.

Qualifications

• Must hold Illinois RN license and provide proof at interview time.
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or obtain within 2 weeks.
• CMSRN or other specialty certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate safe, effective nursing care for acutely ill patients.
• Assess needs and pain, plan, implement, and evaluate care per standards.
• Document nursing assessments, treatments, medications and outcomes.
• Direct and support nursing staff and participate in staff development.
• Demonstrate professional accountability and crisis management skills.
