Job summary

AdventHealth in Kansas is seeking a Registered Nurse for a full-time day shift. The role conducts comprehensive assessments, develops and revises care plans, administers medications, educates patients and families, and coordinates with the healthcare team to ensure safe, effective care.

The position requires an RN license, Associate’s degree in Nursing, and Basic Life Support. Bachelor’s degree is preferred, with 1+ year in an acute care setting encouraged.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Nursing is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is preferred.
• 1+ year in acute care hospital setting preferred.
• Registered Nurse license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance.
• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information, care activities, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record.
• Evaluate effectiveness of care plans and interventions, making necessary adjustments to improve patient health.
• Ensure compliance with infection control protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe healthcare environment.
• Provide emotional support and therapeutic communication to patients and families, addressing their emotional and psychological needs.
• Supervise and delegate care provided by healthcare team members to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Respond to code situations promptly and effectively, providing necessary interventions to stabilize patients.
