Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine, North Carolina seeks an Acute Care Registered Nurse (PT) to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with medical teams. The RN will act as an advocate for patients to support an exceptional experience.

You will assess patient condition on admission and each shift, perform procedures as ordered, document care in the medical record, administer prescribed medications, and maintain knowledge of cardiac and medical-surgical care.

Qualifications

• One year of RN experience is required.
• BSN degree or enrollment in a BSN program with a BSN obtained within 5 years of hire date.
• Current RN license in North Carolina; eNLC license may apply.
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, identifying and reporting changes.
• Perform procedures or functions as ordered by the medical provider.
• Document care administered in the patient’s medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient response.
• Maintain knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment for cardiac and medical-surgical patients.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Acute Care Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.

What you will do in this role:

• Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.
• Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients

What qualifications you will need:

• Required Experience: One year of RN experience
• Preferred Experience: Hospital and or Critical Care experience
• Required Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing or enroll in a BSN or advanced degree program and obtain a BSN within 5 years of hire date into RN position. Grandfathering will be accepted between departments and Mission Health entities. Exemptions, or extensions, may be approved by the facility CNO and reported out to the CNO Council members. Each facility will ensure tracking of exemptions should this information be needed. RNs with 10 years or more of experience are exempt.
• Preferred Education: Master's Degree in Nursing
• Required License: Must have and maintain current licensure as registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. eNLC (Enhanced Nurse License Compact) license may apply, licensee should confirm with NCBON
• Required Certifications: BLS and ACLS
