Job summary

Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine, NC, is seeking an Acute Care Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care across Med/Surg, Stepdown and ICU with pre- and post-operative support and patient advocacy. You will collaborate with physicians and care teams to improve outcomes and patient experience.

Qualifications

• One year of RN experience.
• Active North Carolina RN license; eNLC license may apply, confirm with NCBON.
• BLS, ACLS and CPI certifications required.
• Associates Degree in Nursing is required.
• Masters in Nursing preferred.
• National Certification in area of specialty is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, identifying changes.
• Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record promptly.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor response.
• Maintain knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in cardiac and medical-surgical care.

Job Summary and Qualifications

This department is a combination of Med/Surg, Stepdown and ICU patients.

The Acute Care Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.

What you will do in this role:

• Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.
• Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.

What qualifications you will need:

• Required Experience:One year of RN experience.
• Preferred Experience:Strong hospital experience
• Required Education:Associates Degree in Nursing.
• Preferred Education: Masters in Nursing.
• Required License:Just have and maintain current licensure as registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. eNLC (Enhanced Nurse License Compact) license may apply, licensee should confirm with NCBON.
• Required Certifications:BLS, ACLS and CPI
• Preferred License:National Certification in area of specialty
