Job summary

BayCare Health System is recruiting an Acute Care Physical Therapist Assistant to join St. Joseph's North team. You will support a comprehensive patient care plan in a busy hospital setting, working closely with therapists, nurses, and physicians.

The role emphasizes patient education, documentation, and adherence to infection control and regulatory standards, with a daytime schedule and occasional weekend work.

Qualifications

• Experience in acute care or hospital setting preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• BLS certification required.
• PTA (Physical Therapy Assistant) credential and licensure within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist.
• Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, and functional ADL mobility interventions.
• Monitor and document patient progress, reporting changes to the supervising therapist.
• Educate patients and families on exercises and techniques to support recovery.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and occupational therapists.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with hospital standards.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort during therapy sessions.
