Job summary

VIRTUA is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant for an acute care float position in New Jersey. The role supports rehabilitation services across divisions and works under the supervision of a physical therapist to implement the plan of care and document patient progress.

Responsibilities include collaborating with the care team, maintaining patient records, and educating patients and families. APTA-accredited PTA program graduate with NJ licensure and CPR certification is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of Physical Therapy Assistant Associate degree from an APTA-accredited program.
• Current licensure in the State of New Jersey.
• CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Consults with medical, ancillary professionals and other team members to provide optimum quality patient care and effective operations.
• Provides physical therapy interventions consistent with the plan of care and provides feedback to the PT on patient progress.
• Maintains and completes patient records, reports and all documentation in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
• Effectively utilizes aides and other support staff as appropriate.
• Communicates with patient and family to provide education and literature suited to age and cultural needs.
