Job summary

Texas Health Resources is seeking a Physical Therapist for the Acute Care department in Fort Worth. This PRN position supports on-call coverage and standard weekdays with some weekends and holidays. Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy is required, with Texas licensing and BCLS certification on hire.

New grads are welcome, and the role offers opportunities to work within a Magnet-designated hospital with advanced programs and a collegial care team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy required.
• Acute care experience preferred; new grads welcome.
• PT Texas license upon hire required.
• BCLS certification prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong problem-solving, teaching, time management, interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Basic leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs age-appropriate patient assessment and establishes plan of care.
• Executes treatment procedures within the scope of the professional license.
• Educates patient and family with instructions, demonstrations, and handouts on treatment plan, safety, home programs, and equipment.
• Initiates discharge planning in collaboration with care team and patient based on prognosis.
• Attends and/or leads hospital, department, and community meetings/in-services.
• Demonstrates strong commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration.
