Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health’s Monmouth Medical Center seeks a dedicated Physical Therapist to support a multidisciplinary team. The role focuses on evaluating patients, building individualized plans of care, and delivering skilled interventions to restore mobility and independence during acute hospital stays.

You will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and therapists, document care in medical records, support student therapists, and uphold universal precautions and patient-centered safety.

Qualifications

• Current New Jersey State license as a Physical Therapist is required.
• One year of acute care or hospital-based physical therapy experience preferred.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Ability to meet the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
• Knowledge and demonstrated practice of Universal Precautions.
• Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, nurses, and other interdisciplinary team members.

Responsibilities

• Completing comprehensive evaluations and developing individualized plans of care.
• Providing skilled physical therapy interventions for musculoskeletal, neurological, and cardiovascular conditions.
• Completing medical record documentation and billing practices.
• Collaborating with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to address patient needs.
• Communicating patient status, treatment recommendations, and ongoing needs to referring physicians.
• Supporting the development of future physical therapy professionals through student programs.
