Job summary

New Solutions is hiring a Physical Therapist for Acute Care in a clinical setting in Texas. The role requires a Bachelor’s in Physical Therapy, a current PT license, and BLS certification within 60 days. New grads welcome. Prior cardiac rehab experience is a plus, with comprehensive benefits and relocation support.

The successful candidate will develop and guide patient therapy programs, perform diagnostic tests, supervise therapy activities, and document progress for the rehab team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy is required
• Master’s degree is preferred
• Current Physical Therapist license is required
• BLS certification is required within 60 days of employment

Responsibilities

• Plans therapy program for each patient using exercise, massage, heat, water, light, and electricity as prescribed by physician
• Applies diagnostic and prognostic tests for muscles, nerves, joints, and function
• Directs and aids patients in active and passive exercises, muscle reeducation, gait and functional training
• Provides whirlpool and contrast baths and applies moist packs
• Directs patient in use of wheelchairs, walkers, standers, braces, crutches, and prosthetic devices
• Instructs on posture control and home exercise program
• Adapts PT techniques for patients unable to comprehend commands
• Evaluates, records, and reports patient progress to the rehab team
• Maintains department records and SOAP notes; ensures proper documentation
• Maintains department policies, safety, infection control and equipment upkeep

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy

Master’s degree preferred

Physical Therapist license

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Position Responsibilities:
•Plans therapy program for each patient, involving physical means, such as exercise, massage, heat, water, light, and electricity, as prescribed by physician.
•Applies diagnostic and prognostic muscles, nerves, joints, and functional ability tests.
•Directs and aids patient in active and passive exercises, muscle reeducation, and gait and functional training utilizing pulleys and weights, steps, and inclined surfaces.
•Gives whirlpool and contrast baths and applies moist packs.
•Directs patient in care and use of wheelchairs, walkers, standers, braces, crutches, and prosthetic and orthoptic devices.
•Gives instruction in posture control and therapeutic procedures to be continued by the patient. Develops, instruct and monitor home exercise program.
•Adapts conventional physical therapy techniques to meet the needs of patients unable to comprehend verbal commands or voluntarily carries out a regime of therapeutic exercises.
•Evaluates, records, and reports on patient's progress for review by other members of the rehabilitative team.
•Maintains department records, reports, and patient records. Utilizes proper documentation as required, including daily patient notes utilizing SOAP format.
•Maintains department policies, procedures, objectives, and quality assurance programs, safety, environmental and infection control. Assists in care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.

•Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy required, Master’s degree preferred.
