Job summary

ScionHealth is seeking a Phlebotomist for its Denver-area hospital to perform venipuncture and related specimen collection duties. The role involves patient interaction, specimen labeling, and clerical laboratory tasks to support timely and accurate testing.

Responsibilities include maintaining supplies, documenting procedures in the laboratory system, and assisting with routine lab functions under the direction of the Laboratory Manager/Director.

Qualifications

• Must read, write and speak fluent English.
• Basic computer knowledge required.
• Able to identify correct color top tubes and blood volumes per test requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and collect specimens per physician orders and regulations.
• Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxiety and facilitate understanding.
• Label, log, and file specimens; prepare standards and paperwork.
• Maintain venipuncture trays and supply areas; order supplies as needed.
• Use Laboratory Information System to document collection and processes.
• Assist in laboratory functions as delegated by Lab Manager/Director.
