Job summary

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in an acute care hospital pharmacy
• Texas State Board certification required
• ASHP-accredited technician training preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Valid Driver's License required
• Ability to read, write and speak English
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Sensitivity to cultural and bilingual issues

Responsibilities

• Fill physician orders/prescriptions, medication carts, or stock requisitions
• Deliver medications and supplies to patient care and ancillary areas
• Enter charges and credits for patient medications
• Enter medication orders/prescriptions into the pharmacy computer system
• Provide technical support for automated dispensing units
• Prepare intravenous admixtures or other sterile products (including chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition)
• Keep pharmacy equipment and areas clean and organized
• Other duties as assigned
