Job summary

Deaconess Health System seeks a Pharmacy Director for Acute Care to oversee inpatient pharmacy operations, lead strategic initiatives, and ensure high‑quality, cost‑effective pharmaceutical services across the hospital and system.

This role directs operational leadership, financial management, CQI, staff development, and stakeholder engagement with physicians and administration to advance patient safety and service excellence.

Qualifications

• Required: BS Pharmacy or PharmD.
• Preferred: MBA or MHA.
• Minimum 3 years pharmacy management experience.
• 5+ years hospital pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees inpatient pharmacy operations, ensuring safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
• Leads strategic direction, programs, and system-wide integration of pharmacy services.
• Prepares and manages budgets, monitors productivity, formulary management, and contracts.
• Drives CQI activities and tracks performance metrics for quality improvement.
• Recruits, develops, evaluates, and supports pharmacy staff; fosters positive work culture.
• Collaborates with administration, physicians, and other departments on service delivery.
• Participates in hospital committees and system initiatives; resolves issues with stakeholders.
