Job summary

University of Mississippi Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Tech to assist with patient care for acutely ill to rehabilitating patients at Grenada Hospital. You will stock supplies, monitor vital signs, transport patients, and support nursing staff under direct supervision.

Requires a high school diploma or GED and completion of EMT/LPN/RN or nursing assistant training. CPR/BLS certification is required within three months of hire and bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and two years of acute care nursing support experience.
• Completion of EMT, LPN, paramedic, or RN program or first semester in such program.
• Currently employed as a UMMC Nurse Extern; completion of a Nursing or medical Assistant Course.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care, monitor vital signs, and transport patients.
• Stock supplies and maintain equipment; report malfunctions.
• Assist with procedures under RN supervision; document care.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort; observe and report changes.
• Maintain infection control and safe environment.
