Job summary

Qualifications

• Completion of a Physician Assistant program.
• California PA license issued by the CA Physician Assistant Board.
• ACLS certification (American Heart Association).
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification (American Heart Association).

Responsibilities

• Assess all patients in acute care setting for service line population within scope of practice.
• Develop patient data base through health history, exam and tests; formulate care plans.
• Order diagnostic tests, interpret results and manage treatments.
• Counsel and support patients and families; participate in interdisciplinary care.
• Promote interdisciplinary planning and update standardized procedures.
• Maintain documentation for all patient contacts; meet daily volume expectations.
• Participate in staff education and ongoing professional development.
