Job summary

Good Samaritan Society in Sioux Falls, SD, seeks an Occupational Therapist to assess residents and guide recovery using evidence-based treatments. You'll join Sanford Health's Acute Care team, collaborating with physicians, nurses, and therapists in a fast-paced hospital environment that values autonomy, communication, and teamwork.

This full-time position includes a 8:00 AM-4:30 PM shift, Same Day surgery rotation, and an annual sign-on bonus of $30,000.

Qualifications

Must be licensed in the state(s) of practice as Occupational Therapist.
NBCOT certification required when working at Sanford Health facility.
Obtain and maintain required department competencies and certifications.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or within the first 60 days.
May require a valid driver’s license where applicable.
New graduates in ND, SD, IA, MN may be considered with a temporary license.

Responsibilities

Conducts evaluations and provides interventions for residents and patients.
Evaluates abilities of residents/patients and develops realistic therapy goals.
Documents resident's/patient’s information for evaluation and establishes therapeutic plans.
Provides education designed to enhance understanding and improve functional outcomes.
Demonstrates and incorporates knowledge of current research into daily treatment.
Provides ongoing education and training to peers in the area(s) of expertise.
