Job summary

Qualifications

• Six months of general experience or equivalent education/training.
• Two years of college with nursing-related courses.
• Completion of an occupation-related program meeting NA requirements.
• Grandfathering provisions may apply for current VA employees.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic nursing care: bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting.
• Assist with mobility, positioning, transfers and daily living activities.
• Measure and record vital signs, intake/output, and report changes promptly.
• Keep patient environment clean, stocked, and safe; observe and report changes.
• Serve as a mentor to new Nursing Assistants and support care team.
