Job summary

New Mexico VA Health Care System is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the 5A Medicine Acute Care Service in Albuquerque. The NA will provide direct patient care, monitor patients, and support basic nursing tasks under supervision of registered nurses.

Requirements include English proficiency and six months of general experience or related education. Rotating shifts and routine duties across inpatient, outpatient, and acute care settings are expected.

Qualifications

• English language proficiency required.
• Ability to observe and report changes in patient condition.
• Ability to communicate with patients, families and health staff.
• Compute and administer basic patient care tasks under RN supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under supervision.
• Monitor and document patient status and care provided.
• Assist with activities of daily living and basic nursing procedures.
• Support treatment plans and cooperate with care team.
