Pulmonary Medicine Associates in Northern California has an opening for an Advanced Practice Provider to join our hospital ICU care team in the Greater Sacramento area. This is a full-time position, night shifts required. Training provided.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of Accredited School offering an Advanced Degree in Nurse Practice (ARNP).
  • Current, unrestricted California NP license (ACNP preferred).
  • Board certification in relevant specialty.
  • Current DEA certificate without restriction.
  • ACLS required.

Responsibilities

  • Under physician supervision, provide ICU care using PMA and hospital protocols.
  • Perform histories and physicals for critically ill adults.
  • Assess, diagnose, and treat acute, complex conditions.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate labs and imaging.
  • Prescribe medications, fluids, and other therapies.
  • Perform invasive procedures and monitor ventilation.
  • Participate in rounds and coordinate care across teams.
  • Document assessments and plans in the EMR.
  • Ensure adherence to safety and quality guidelines.

  • Under the general supervision of a physician, provide care to hospital ICU patients using established protocols as required by PMA and Hospital policy.
  • Perform comprehensive histories and physical examinations for critically ill adult patients.
  • Assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for patients with acute, complex, and life-threatening conditions.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory, radiologic, and diagnostic studies.
  • Prescribe medications, blood products, fluids, and other therapies within scope of practice.
  • Perform invasive procedures
  • Monitor ventilator management in collaboration with respiratory therapy and intensivists.
  • Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds and develop individualized plans of care.
  • Respond to rapid response and code blue activations as assigned.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding treatment plans, prognosis, and goals of care.
  • Collaborate with consulting specialists and ancillary services to coordinate patient care.
  • Document patient assessments, treatment plans, procedures, and progress notes in the electronic medical record.
  • Ensure compliance with evidence-based practice guidelines, quality initiatives, and patient safety standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement projects, peer review, and clinical education.
  • Assist with discharge planning and transitions of care when appropriate.
  • Maintain continuing education and competency requirements.
ACNP Duties Include
