Job summary

South Shore Health System seeks a Registered Nurse to provide individualized nursing care using the nursing process. The role includes medication administration, care planning, and patient-family-centered care within the hospital's policies and procedures.

The position emphasizes safety, compliance with regulatory standards, and ongoing professional development. Prior acute care experience is preferred, with potential requirement of BLS/ACLS and other certifications depending on department.

Qualifications

• RN - Registered Nurse license required.
• BLS/ACLS/NRP/PALS/TNCC/TCAR certifications may be required depending on department.

Responsibilities

• Manages individualized, outcome oriented nursing care through the nursing process; coordinates and completes assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of care.
• Administers, transcribes and records medications per SSH policies; completes medication reconciliation and narcotics handling.
• Develops and updates an individualized plan of care; conducts admission assessments within 8 hours and communicates patient/family teaching needs.
• Maintains a culture of safety; follows CDC hand hygiene guidelines and universal precautions; ensures regulatory compliance.
• Presents patient-centered care, supports patient/family decision making, and facilitates discharge planning to meet daily goals.
• Engages in ongoing professional development (minimum 5 contact hours/year) and adheres to hospital policies; participates in performance improvement.
