Job summary

UTHealth Houston's Department of Internal Medicine is seeking a Full-Time Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join the Transplant ICU/Critical Care team on the night shift. You will provide advanced nursing care for patients with complex acute and critical conditions under physician supervision, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team in a high-volume hospital setting.

Candidates must hold an TX APRN-NP license, RN license, BLS certification, and meet specialty requirements.

Qualifications

• Texas RN license in good standing and BON registration.
• APRN-NP license in Texas required.
• BLS certification required by AHA.
• Certification in clinical specialty determined by the department.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced nursing care to patients with complex acute, critical, and chronic conditions.
• Conduct rounds with physicians and multidisciplinary team.
• Order and interpret tests, manage medications as needed.
• Develop and implement patient care plans.
• Educate patients and families on care and prevention.
