Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in Texas seeks a Nurse Practitioner with nephrology/dialysis experience to provide direct patient care across outpatient and inpatient settings. The APRN will work under physician supervision within the Nephrology department, delivering comprehensive treatment plans, ordering tests, and counseling patients and families on disease management.

The role requires current Texas NP licensure, active RN licensure or compact privileges, and BLS within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• 1+ year clinical experience required.
• Texas RN licensure or RN with compact privileges; Texas NP licensure.
• Current license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in Texas.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire; board certification as APRN.
• Experience in nephrology/dialysis preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess physical and mental condition; obtain histories.
• Order and interpret laboratory tests and other diagnostics.
• Prescribe medications and therapies; propose interventions.
• Develop and implement patient treatment plans; coordinate with physicians.
• Counsel patients and families on medical processes and health promotion.
• Maintain patient records and ensure proper documentation.
• Provide consultation in assigned specialty; manage patients in varied care settings.
• Perform invasive procedures within scope of practice as delegated.
