Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Nurse Practitioner Acute Care (NP-AC) to provide comprehensive patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including diagnosis, treatment and consultation in line with the Texas Nurse Practice Act.

The NP-AC collaborates with physicians and the interprofessional health care team, conducts physicals, orders tests and prescribes medications as needed, while educating patients on prevention and management of conditions.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited school.
• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Two years RN/NP clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead clinical resource and coordinate patient care with the interprofessional team.
• Communicate with patients, families and staff to ensure safety and quality care.
• Conduct health assessments and develop care plans; supervise implementation.
• Participate in rounds and continuous improvement activities.
