Job summary

Houston Methodist seeks a Nurse Practitioner Acute Care (ACLS) to provide direct patient care in inpatient and outpatient settings. The NP AC collaborates with physicians and the health care team, conducts assessments, orders tests, and prescribes medications within the Texas Nurse Practice Act and organizational policies.

The role requires a master’s degree in nursing, TP licensure, APN Acute Care certification, and recent RN/NP experience.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher from an accredited school of Nursing and graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioners program.
• Two years of RN, APN or NP clinical experience.
• RN Texas licensure with PSV compact; APRN Acute Care license; Magnet ANCC Acute Care; BLS/ACLS; prescriptive authority; DEA.

Responsibilities

• Provide diagnosis, treatment, and consultation as part of a treatment team.
• Coordinate patient care with the interprofessional health care team.
• Educate patients about preventive care and prescribed treatments.
• Conduct physicals, order tests, and prescribe medications as appropriate.
