Job summary

Kindred Hospital Baldwin Park is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide direct patient care under RN supervision in a 91-bed facility. The role centers on medication administration, treatments, and supporting rehabilitation per the care plan.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on patient age and clinical condition.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to organize tasks, develop action plans, set priorities and function under stressful situations.
• Ability to maintain a good working relationship within the department and with other departments.
• Must have good and regular attendance.
• Must read, write and speak fluent English.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications and performs treatments under RN supervision.
• Keeps RN informed of patient status and changes in condition.
• Assists with pain management and patient/family education.
• Coordinates with care team to implement the plan of care.
• Assists physicians with examinations and procedures as directed by RN.
• Treats patients and families with respect and addresses psychosocial needs.
• Communicates with Social Services/Discharge Planner regarding inpatient and post-discharge needs.
