Job summary

Summit BHC in Harlingen, TX is seeking a Cook - Acute for Palms Behavioral Health. You will implement menus, coordinate food preparation, and serve meals to patients, staff and visitors. Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Two or more years’ experience in food service role in preparing food for institutions such as schools, hospitals or cafeterias preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans and prepares foods in accordance with facility policies and approved recipes/menus.
• Plans cooking schedule so foods for regular and therapeutic menus are ready on time.
• Follows recipes and portioning procedures for meats, entrees, gravies, casseroles, vegetables, soups, salads and desserts.
• Maintains accurate temperature logs and proper storage, labeling, and dating of food items.
