Job summary

Lubbock Heart & Surgical Hospital is seeking a dedicated Charge Nurse to join the team in Lubbock, TX. You will lead nursing care for a group of professionals, coordinate care on the unit, and support entry level staff while ensuring safe, high-quality patient outcomes.

Applicants must be a graduate of an approved nursing program, licensed in Texas, with BCLS and ACLS. A 2-5 year background in cardiac care and supervisory experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• Currently licensed in the state of Texas.
• BCLS and ACLS required.
• 2-5 years’ experience in cardiac care setting and prior supervisory experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assess, implement, or delegate, plan, and evaluate total nursing functions for a group of professionals.
• Coordinate provision of nursing care on the unit and ensure efficient flow of patients and resources.
• Mentor entry level nurses and participate in monthly staffing plans.
• Develop discharge plans and follow-up appropriate to patient and family needs.
• Provide education to patients and families and respond to emergencies in acute care.
