Job summary

NHS Ayrshire and Arran is seeking an Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join the Hospital at Night Acute Care ANP team. The post is permanent and involves 36‑hour day/night rotation across University Hospital Ayr, Crosshouse, Woodland View and Biggart Hospital.

You will perform comprehensive assessments, initiate investigations, and develop management plans for acutely unwell adults, with post‑registration acute care experience and ongoing education supported.

Qualifications

• Current NMC registration with a degree level qualification in nursing.
• Significant post-registration experience in acute care.
• Commitment to lifelong learning and pursuing PgDip in Advanced Practice.

Responsibilities

• Perform full clinical assessments and initiate investigations.
• Formulate management plans and deliver first line interventions.
• Work across medical and surgical boundaries as first responder to acutely unwell adults.
• Support medical teams and rotate across hospital sites as part of ANP team.
