Job summary

WECTEC Staffing Services is seeking an experienced field technician to support AOV/actuator valve maintenance at nuclear sites. You will perform diagnostics, testing, troubleshooting, and both corrective and preventive maintenance on a variety of valve types and sizes.

You will interpret results, recommend repair strategies, and ensure compliance with procedural and safety requirements. The role requires on-site work, detailed documentation, and willingness to travel extensively, including

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; EPRI or technical/vocational training.
• At least 3 years of nuclear industry experience in AOV/actuator valve maintenance and diagnostic testing.
• Mechanical and electrical skill set with ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical references.
• U.S. Navy nuclear background or comparable reactor operations/maintenance training.
• Proficiency with hand tools, electrical instruments, and diagnostic equipment; adherence to OSHA safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the go-to field resource for AOV maintenance across a variety of valve types and sizes.
• Execute functional post-maintenance testing, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and both corrective and preventive maintenance.
• Interpret diagnostic results and recommend repair strategies that drive first-time quality.
• Honor procedural compliance and mechanical safety clearance requirements at every step.
• Complete work per work orders; keep records detailed and accurate, and verify documentation quality.
• Perform diagnostic testing aligned with customer specifications and contractor parameters.
• Apply human performance tools to minimize risk.
• Be prepared for overtime, including shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Support additional duties within your capabilities as requested by management.
