Job summary

Liberty Mutual in the United States seeks a Manager, Actuary for Personal Lines Auto Analytics. You will lead a five-person team providing actuarial support for state filings, rate initiatives, and new products. You will collaborate with state analytics, planning, rate revision, and rollout teams to inform business decisions.

Some in-office work may be required depending on location. The role includes regulator negotiations, cross-functional partnerships, and countrywide knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• 5-10 years progressively responsible experience, including supervisory experience.
• Fellowship in the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) or near-FCAS designation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide actuarial support for state filings for rate and other new initiatives.
• Lead team of five actuaries / analysts.
• Provide analytical insight and recommendations to State Directors to inform business decisions.
• Track state-level requirements for actuarial assumptions in filings and apply them appropriately.
• Develop subject matter expertise which can be leveraged countrywide.
• Own continuous improvement of processes to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness of external actuarial support.
• Queries data for requests outside of base rate support and drive deep dives on an ad-hoc basis.
• Communicate effectively with external regulators in writing and verbally, to support business outcomes.
