Job summary

Sentry Insurance offers an actuarial internship designed to give you hands-on experience while paired with a mentor to guide your development in actuarial functions. You’ll engage with leadership across the company and network through various social events, while contributing to project work that gives you real responsibility.

• Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science, Risk Management, Mathematics, Statistics or related field preferred.
• At least one actuarial exam completed is preferred.
• Obtain a minimum in-major GPA of 3.0.
• Expected graduation date of December 2027 through May 2029.

Responsibilities

• Learn the basics of actuarial functions through exposure to a broad range of insurance products and actuarial methodologies, in addition to participating in project work during the internship.
• Receive mentorship and networking opportunities with leadership during social events and across teams.
• Participate in a hybrid work arrangement with in-office days and work-from-home on selected days.

Education

Actuarial Science / Mathematics degree

At least one actuarial exam completed

GPA in major 3.0 or higher

Expected graduation December 2027 – May 2029

Job description

In this internship, you'll gain hands-on experience and work with a mentor to learn all about the Actuarial role and network with leadership at social events.

This position will have the opportunity to intern in either our Madison or Stevens Point, WI office location.

What You’ll Do

Actuary interns are given the opportunity to learn the basics of actuarial functions through exposure to a broad range of insurance products and actuarial methodologies in addition to participating in project work that takes place throughout the internship.

What it Takes

To be considered for this position, the following criteria are necessary:

• Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science, Risk Management, Mathematics, Statistics or related field preferred

• At least one actuarial exam complete is preferred

• Obtain a minimum in-major GPA of 3.0

• Expected graduation date of December 2027 through May 2029

• Sentry does not offer employment in this position to holders of F-1, J-1, and H-1 Visas for the purpose of obtaining practical experience
