Job summary

The Standard, a StanCorp Financial Group company, is seeking an actuary to join the Voluntary Benefits Pricing Strategy team. You will focus on custom pricing and analysis for EVB products, collaborating with senior actuaries, underwriting, sales and finance to improve pricing accuracy, efficiency, and competitiveness.

Ideal candidates have a strategic mindset, ASA certification, and 3+ years of actuarial experience with large product lines in supplemental health or life products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, actuarial science, business or related field (MBA or advanced degree a plus). ASA or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Develop pricing strategies for large EVB product lines (accident, critical illness, hospital indemnity, disability, life).
• Lead projects to improve pricing accuracy, competitiveness and efficiency.
• Collaborate with underwriting, sales and finance to support product development and pricing needs.
• Provide thought leadership and drive continuous improvement of pricing processes.
