Job summary

Arbol, a global climate risk coverage platform, seeks a senior actuary to lead pricing, reserving, reinsurance analytics, and portfolio analytics for homeowners lines in coastal southern states with plans to expand. You will translate complex actuarial judgment into scalable AI-enabled workflows, collaborating with AI/engineering teams to build automated tools and dashboards.

The role demands ownership, strong Excel/Python skills, and ACAS/FCAS credentials.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of P&C actuarial experience with ACAS/FCAS credential
• High ownership and self-starter mindset; able to drive work forward with limited structure
• Strong proficiency in Excel and Python; ability to build clean, repeatable analyses and communicate findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders
• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related quantitative field

Responsibilities

• Develop rate indications and pricing analyses (territory, deductible, rating factors)
• Monitor rate adequacy, loss trends, inflation impacts, and emerging experience
• Build and maintain pricing tools, exhibits, and documentation for internal decisions and regulatory filings
• Perform quarterly reserve analyses for homeowners and related lines
• Monitor loss emergence, claim severity/frequency trends, and CAT vs non-CAT performance
• Partner with Claims and Finance to reconcile results and improve data quality
• Build dashboards to monitor portfolio performance and emerging trends
• Assess exposure concentrations and catastrophe load using CAT model outputs
• Evaluate reinsurance program impacts and support related reporting and analytics
• Automate actuarial processes and translate actuarial logic into automated tools
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Claims, Finance, Data/Engineering, and Leadership on special projects
