Job summary

The Cigna Group’s Actuarial Executive Development Program (AEDP) offers an 11-week internship designed to grow modern actuaries and leaders. You’ll tackle a high-impact project, apply data to real business decisions, and gain mentorship from experienced actuaries as you sharpen your technical and leadership skills.

Based in Austin, TX, the internship provides hands-on experience, classroom-style training, and exposure to analytics and AI-enabled tools with clear pathways to full-time roles,

Qualifications

• Pursuing bachelor’s degree with at least two years completed in actuarial science, math, statistics, finance, economics, or data analytics.
• Minimum 3.2 GPA.
• Uses data to solve real-world problems and demonstrates business impact.
• Comfort with Excel and exposure to Python/R/SQL/AI-enabled tools.
• Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration.
• Shows early leadership potential.
• Completed at least one actuarial exam (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Own a high-impact actuarial or analytical project aligned to real business needs.
• Analyze data to uncover insights that support pricing, forecasting, reserving, or strategic initiatives.
• Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to actuarial and business stakeholders.
• Apply classroom knowledge to real-world problems, learning how actuarial work influences business decisions.
• Collaborate with peers and mentors across teams and locations.
