Job summary

Manulife John Hancock is offering an Actuarial Summer Internship Program in Boston, MA for May–August 2027. This hybrid role requires in-office presence Tue–Thu with remote work on Mon and Fri.

You will gain exposure to pricing, valuation, modeling, risk management, and experience analytics, with mentorship and events throughout the program. Current students pursuing actuarial science or related fields with strong GPAs and communication skills will thrive.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, statistics, math, or related field.
• Maintaining a strong GPA and coursework performance.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Analytical, quantitative mindset with big-picture thinking.
• Familiarity with the SOA qualification process.
• Excel proficiency; programming skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Placed in one of our actuarial departments (pricing, valuation, modeling, etc.) for the duration of the internship.
• Participate in meetings with manager and team to help determine work priorities.
• Complete process improvement projects to help increase efficiency in the department.
• Present results and recommendations to manager and other stakeholders on projects.
• Regularly attend events featuring speakers from various departments within John Hancock to enhance your business knowledge and professional skills.
