Job summary

MetLife’s Actuarial Internship Program (AIP) offers a 10-week, in-person to hybrid experience starting June 1, 2027, requiring a U.S. work authorization.

Interns will engage in pricing, modeling, and financial analysis, with exposure to AI and emerging tech in actuarial practice. Students must be enrolled in a bachelor’s program with a 3.0+ GPA, possess strong Excel skills, and show leadership and communication abilities.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in actuarial science or a quantitative field.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Strong Excel skills with pivot tables, advanced formulas, data validation, lookup functions, and data analysis techniques.
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and translate findings into actionable business insights.
• Leadership experience, strong written and verbal communication skills, and a record of self-motivation and initiative.
• Interest in learning programming languages, data analysis tools, and emerging technologies.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to actuarial projects in areas such as pricing, product development, reserve calculations, actuarial modeling, financial analysis, or investments.
• Collaborate with experienced actuaries across different areas of actuarial practice.
• Attend learning presentations on key actuarial topics and functions.
• Prepare and present completed projects and business contributions to actuarial leaders and stakeholders.
• Participate in professional development opportunities, networking events, and social activities throughout the summer.
