Job summary

Mapfre Insurance is seeking a seasoned Actuarial Manager to lead a multi-state Personal Lines pricing team across WA, ID, NH, ME, and VT. You will drive pricing strategy, leverage SQL-driven analyses, and mentor analysts to deliver high-impact insights for profitability and growth.

You will partner with senior leadership to translate complex data into strategic recommendations, ensure quality work, and advance actuarial methodologies while shaping long-term business plans.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of actuarial or related experience
• ACAS designation or near completion
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional expertise in a specialized field
• Strong actuarial, analytical, and programming capabilities (SQL proficiency required)
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with business partners and senior leadership
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Track record of driving process improvements and enhancing methodologies

Responsibilities

• Own the Market: Build and lead a high-performing team with deep expertise across assigned states
• Develop Strategic Insight: Deliver actuarial insights to inform rate changes and key business initiatives
• Quantify & Forecast Impact: Assess top-line and bottom-line effects of rate actions and forecast profitability
• Lead with Data: Translate complex data into data-driven recommendations with actuarial judgment
• Technical Excellence: Leverage SQL to extract, manipulate, and analyze data across systems
• Oversee and contribute to complex quantitative analyses and modeling
• Ensure Quality & Accountability: Validate analyses and ensure high-quality deliverables
• Communicate & Influence: Present findings to peers and senior leadership
• Collaborate & Innovate: Partner with cross-functional teams to align actuarial strategies
• Develop Talent: Mentor and develop junior staff across the function
