Auto Club Enterprises is seeking a Senior Actuarial Technician to shape and deliver pricing and product initiatives. You will partner with Product, Actuarial, IS, and Operations to implement solutions that protect rating integrity and business intent.

Responsibilities include leading complex rating and product initiatives, serving as a subject matter expert, gathering requirements, and validating premiums. The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration and risk-aware decision making.

As a Senior Actuarial Technician, you'll serve as a trusted subject matter expert, partnering across business and technology teams to ensure our products are implemented accurately and efficiently while protecting rating integrity and business intent.

What You'll Do

• Lead complex rating, product, and system initiatives from requirements through implementation.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned states, products, and rating plans.
• Partner with Product, Actuarial, Information Systems, Operations, and other stakeholders to design and implement solutions that support business objectives.
• Gather, refine, and document business requirements; identify gaps, close loopholes, and recommend improvements.
• Develop, enhance, and maintain system rate books while ensuring alignment with approved rates, rules, and product intent.
• Plan, coordinate, execute, and oversee testing activities across development, user acceptance, regression, and post-implementation phases.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex rating and system issues.
• Provide guidance and support to team members on rating, testing, product, and implementation matters.
• Represent the team in cross-functional meetings, providing recommendations and driving action items to completion.
• Evaluate impacts of proposed changes and identify risks, downstream effects, and implementation considerations.
• Lead assigned projects and rate changes from inception through deployment with minimal supervision.
• Recommend process improvements and enhancements that increase efficiency, reduce risk, and improve product quality.
• Provide rating support and expertise to internal business partners; validate premiums and explain rating outcomes.

What You'll Need

• Strong analytical, logical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to independently lead multiple initiatives while balancing shifting priorities and deadlines.
• Advanced understanding of insurance products, rating plans, discounts, surcharges, underwriting rules, and rating systems.
• Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into practical system solutions.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including lookup functions, nested formulas, data analysis, and troubleshooting.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience gathering requirements, facilitating discussions, and driving projects to completion.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions with limited direction.
• 4+ years of insurance industry experience in actuarial, product development, underwriting, claims, information systems, or related fields.
• Experience with insurance rating systems, policy administration systems, and rate book development.
• Experience serving as a lead contributor or subject matter expert on complex projects and implementations.

The starting pay range for this position is:

$80,100.00 - $107,000.00

Additionally, for full time positions, you will be eligible to participate in our incentive program based upon the achievement of organization, team and personal performance.
