The position, which is an in-person internship, requires the person to:* Become familiar with using and understanding insurance manuals and principles.* Evaluate frequency, severity, and premium trends for purposes of projecting future losses based on historical loss data.* Effectively communicate with other employees through verbal and/or written means.* Organize and provide management with reports to aid in decision making.* Participate in both formal and informal training sessions.This summer internship is in person in Lansing, Michigan and has full-time hours (Monday - Friday for 37.5 hours/week). Schedule start times can vary, as working hours should overlap that of your mentor's as best as possible. Two of the most common shifts are 8am - 4:30pm or 7:30am - 4pm. Interns choose their start and end dates.
