Job summary

Talcott Financial Group offers a ten-week Summer Actuarial Leadership Program in Hartford, CT. Interns work alongside industry professionals in a leading actuarial leadership training program.

Interns join one of our departments—Actuarial, Enterprise Risk Management, or Investments—supporting product lines such as variable and fixed annuities or life insurance, and engage in activities beyond core duties. A final presentation to the Chief Actuary concludes the internship.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, economics, or a related field.
• Entering sophomore year or beyond with a 3.5 GPA or better
• Preference for passing at least one SOA actuarial exam
• Prior internship experience preferred but not required
• Demonstrated drive for continuous learning and growth
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Aptitude for learning Excel, VBA, and R
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage conflicting priorities independently

Responsibilities

• Dives into business assignments to expand technical expertise, business knowledge, and leadership skills.
• Rotations may include Actuarial, Enterprise Risk Management, or Investments supporting product lines.
• Exposure to pricing, valuation, financial reporting, risk assessment, and more.
