Job summary

GEICO is seeking a part-time actuarial intern to contribute to reserving analysis, trend evaluation, and projection work. You will develop analytical skills using Excel, SQL, R, Snowflake, Power BI and ResQ while learning GEICO's business strategies.

The program offers exposure to actuarial and technical trainings, with opportunities to interview for a full-time role upon completion. Hybrid work from office locations in Bethesda, MD or Chicago, IL is required.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field with expected graduation by May 2028.
• GPA 3.0 or higher (transcripts required).
• Must live within commutable distance from Bethesda, MD or Chicago, IL, with a hybrid schedule (office at least 3 days/week).

Responsibilities

• Work on actuarial projects such as reserving analysis and frequency/severity projections.
• Develop and present analysis and proposals to stakeholder groups.
• Gain hands-on experience using Excel, SQL, R, Snowflake, Power BI and ResQ.
• Participate in internship forums and departmental meetings to learn GEICO's business objectives.
