Their duties consist of determining rates for our various insurance products, analyzing and projecting drivers of loss trends, developing and enhancing new insurance products, examining and setting loss reserves, working with data infrastructure, and much more!   • Analysis and Stakeholder Communication: Develop and present analysis and proposals to various stakeholder groups
  • Technical Skills and Training: Gain valuable real-world experience using various technical applications such as Excel, SQL, R, Snowflake, Power BI and ResQ Participate in insurance, actuarial, and technical trainings
  • Business Exposure and Internship Experience: Be introduced to GEICO’s business objectives and initiatives through active participation in internship forums and departmental meetings Participate in social and networking events Have an opportunity to interview for a full-time position at the completion of the internship
What We’re Looking For Experience & Qualifications

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Math, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Economics, Business, Data/Business Analytics, or other relevant quantitative field of study with expected graduation by May 2028 Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (Please upload ALL transcripts as part of the application process) Must live within commutable distance from one of our offices in Bethesda, MD or Chicago, IL, and work a hybridschedule, including working from the office at least three days per week Core Skills: Proven analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities Highly effective communication skills Intermediate skills in Excel Basic proficiency with data analysis software such as R, SAS, SQL, Python, Power BI, and/or similar tooling Self-driven, motivated, and leadership potential Ability to handle multiple concurrent priorities, providing accurate and timely results Intellectual curiosity to learn and ability to ask insightful questions Effective time management, attention to detail, and organizational skills

Annual Salary $24.93 - $41.21 The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
