Job summary

Aspida Financial Services, LLC, a tech-driven insurance carrier backed by Ares Management, is seeking an actuarial pricing/hedging/valuation assistant onsite at our Durham, NC headquarters. The role supports the pricing, hedging or valuation team and helps build the infrastructure needed for future model development work.

You will assist in developing actuarial models for pricing, reserving and risk, prepare trend reports, and help automate product rate setting.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in actuarial science or a related field.
• At least one SOA exam preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Self-motivated and eager to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development of actuarial models for pricing, reserving, and risk analysis.
• Prepare reports of key trends and communicate findings.
• Support senior actuaries by optimizing actuarial processes related to hedging and risk.
• Design and implement a process for helping Aspida set product rates in a more automated format.
