Job summary

SECURA Insurance Company in Neenah, Wisconsin, invites applications for a 3-month summer internship in Actuarial Services/Data Science. The intern will collaborate with the actuarial team to support rate reviews, analyses, modeling, and business reports tailored for internal clients.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a bachelor's degree in actuarial science or data science, with strong data analysis and Excel skills, and familiarity with Word/PowerPoint. Python knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Actively pursuing bachelor's degree in actuarial science, Data Science, or related field.
• Advanced data analysis skills including designing complex Excel spreadsheets.
• Proficient in Word and PowerPoint.
• Efficient, detail-oriented and service-oriented.
• Able to work both collaboratively and independently.
• Automation tools to improve timeliness and accuracy of reports.
• Python coding is a plus, not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing data for rate reviews for commercial, specialty, agribusiness, and farm lines.
• Apply ratemaking methodologies to develop rate indications.
• Support actuarial research and peer analyses using diverse sources.
• Prepare and analyze actuarial data monthly and quarterly, highlighting observations and trends.
• Participate in projects across business units (commercial, specialty, agribusiness, farm) including planning, reserving, claims, modeling.
• Other duties as assigned.
