Job summary

Coverys is seeking an Actuarial Co-op to support our Pricing & Analytics team in Boston. You will analyze insurance premium, claim, and exposure information to develop actuarial analyses and help drive data-driven decisions for competitive pricing and risk assessment.

You will prepare data, run SQL and Tableau queries, and review market share and rate filings to supplement your analysis. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential to align with teams across the organization.

Qualifications

• Major in mathematics, science, programming, economics, or another quantitative field.
• Experience with R, SQL, SAS, VBA, or Python are helpful, but not required.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to interpret and analyze various types of data.

Responsibilities

• Prepare premium, claim and exposure data for actuarial analysis.
• Work with Excel templates and running SQL and Tableau queries.
• Pull competitor rate filings, summarizing, and integrating with our own data.
• Review market share and annual statement data.
• Review, research, and reconcile data from various sources.
• Participate in team meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.
