Job summary

Security Benefit, a leader in the U.S. retirement market, seeks an Actuarial Associate to drive pricing analytics and product insights for annuity and retirement offerings.

You will develop models, perform financial analysis, and prepare actuarial exhibits while collaborating with Sales, Finance, Legal, and Operations in a hybrid home-office setting. The role requires an ASA or active path with 3+ years of actuarial experience, strong programming skills (Prophet, VBA, SQL, Python or R), and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Actuarial Associate: 3+ years of relevant actuarial experience and an ASA designation.
• Senior Actuarial Assistant: 2+ years of relevant actuarial experience and 4 SOA exams passed.
• Strong programming and scripting in VBA, C++, C#, SQL, Python, or R.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and actuarial software.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work independently.
• Experience with actuarial modeling software; Prophet is a plus.
• Experience with annuity products pricing or product development preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform actuarial modeling and financial analysis to support pricing and product decisions.
• Support design, pricing, implementation, and ongoing management of annuity products.
• Prepare actuarial exhibits and reports.
• Develop and enhance actuarial models using Prophet and other tools.
• Enhance automation and data solutions to improve modeling efficiency and reporting.
• Analyze profitability, risk, and sensitivity under various economic/regulatory scenarios.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
