Job summary

Symetra is hiring an entry-level Actuarial Analyst to support the policy administration system with development, testing, and maintenance of insurance products.

You will translate product designs into system functionality, validate calculations, and collaborate with actuarial, product, operations, and technology teams to ensure accurate outputs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or a related quantitative field.
  • 0-2 years of actuarial, analytical, or related experience through internships, co-ops, or full-time employment.
  • Experience supporting administration system development and maintenance a strong plus.
  • Progress toward actuarial credentials, with one or more actuarial exams passed preferred.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience using Excel and working with data, spreadsheets, or databases to analyze and summarize information.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly present findings.
  • Self-motivated learner who enjoys solving complex problems and working in a collaborative team environment.
  • High school diploma required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain product documentation and support controls that help ensure system calculations remain consistent with approved product specifications.
  • Build knowledge of Symetra products and administrative processes to support future product development and system enhancements.

About the role

Entry-level actuarial analyst position. Provides actuarial support in the development and maintenance of the policy administration system.

Compensation

Hourly Range:$60,100 - $100,100 plus eligibility for annual bonus programs
