Job summary

biBerk is seeking an actuarial analyst to support pricing, business analysis and product development across Insurtech initiatives in Stamford, CT. You will work on rating and policy administration systems, handling data and statistical analyses.

The role requires math/statistics education or equivalent, experience with SQL and Python preferred, 2–5 years of experience, and strong communication. BiBerk offers a comprehensive benefits package and competitive salary.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proficient with spreadsheet software.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Experience with SQL; Python is a plus.
• 2–5 years related work experience preferred.
• 2+ actuarial exams preferred.
• E&O insurance experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Designs and conducts analyses and computes statistics for rating studies.
• Applies advanced math, statistics and finance concepts to casualty insurance problems.
• Tracks rate history and compares industry data to set rate indications.
• Proposes changes in rate levels and structures based on analyses.
• Prepares and presents quarterly results to senior management.
• Revises rate manuals and filing pages per management decisions.
• Compiles exhibits and analyses for rate filings to Insurance Departments.
• Oversees actuarial filing submissions and responds to inquiries from Insurance Departments.
• Monitors state laws affecting coverages and communicates requirements.
• Performs special actuarial projects as needed.
