Job summary

Blue Cross NC is seeking an Actuarial Analyst to support rating and pricing, valuation, healthcare economics, and financial forecasting. Under general guidance, this role applies knowledge of mathematics, probability, statistics, and business principles to provide technical actuarial support.

You will work closely with a team of actuaries and collaborate with Network Management, Underwriting, Sales and Marketing, Finance, and Healthcare teams to deliver analysis, data validation, and model

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree required.
• 2+ years of relevant actuarial experience.
• Must have completed at least 3 exams towards the ASA.
• In lieu of meeting minimum exam requirements, may consider additional relevant experience.
• ASA or more exams towards the ASA may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Perform actuarial research, experience studies, and statistical analyses.
• Calculate premiums and reserves for new and existing plans.
• Provide support to senior actuaries as required.
• Retrieve and validate data for rate filings and actuarial models; analyze changes and impacts.
• Communicate filing status to stakeholders and transmit rate filings to regulators.
