Job summary

CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield is seeking an Actuarial Analyst II to perform data-driven actuarial analysis on health insurance projects. You will assemble data from multiple sources, run moderate complexity calculations, and support ad hoc requests while working toward ASA/FSA designation.

Responsibilities include preparing reports, collaborating with teammates on studies, and presenting findings professionally to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; or 4 additional years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree.
• 2 years health insurance actuarial experience.

Responsibilities

• Review and organize actuarial data for analyses such as rate filings, forecasts, IBNR, trends, and provider contracts.
• Prepare accurate reports, internal or external (statutory/regulatory).
• Participate in special studies and ad hoc analyses for departmental objectives.
• Make recommendations based on actuarial assumptions and methodologies.
• Present analyses and recommendations clearly to internal/external customers.
• Investigate data integrity issues and collaborate to solve problems.
• Pursue ASA/FSA designation by passing SOA exams and earning VEE credits.
